Artist's Description

Thought the similarities and differences of a group of women waiting in line for a bus in the early 1960's a bit interesting. What were the conversations while they were waiting? Or was it silent? Were they friends? Or strangers? Hew creates drawings by simplifying the figurative structures, layering pastels and wrapping it all up with ink. The final step of the process is adding words in partnership with the drawing to achieve an emotional connection and instill a conversation of thoughts for the audience.
